Video Self-Observation

Warm-up: Grammar review of possessives from the previous day's lesson. Students recognize the appropriate use of apostrophes and discuss accuracy in pairs.

Whole class feedback: The entire class reviews the answers from the worksheet to ensure that everyone comprehends the basic rules. Students speak via nomination.

Detailed Grammar work: Once students have induced the rules for possessives and contractions based on the examples on the board, they work again with their partner on more complex sentences.

Vocabulary: Students unblock lexis as a pre-reading exercise in pairs by matching the words on their worksheet to the definitions pasted around the room, discussing and debating along the way.
